Other than the occasional splotches and one or two marathons of Anniversary (since the 15th, of course), and the 343 Day Credit Giveaway…I haven’t played any (other) form of Halo since November. Know why?!? My copy of Sonic Generations Collector’s Edition came in all the way from Germany!!! FUCK YEAH!!! I got the damn thing weeks ago, but I’ve JUST recently been able to pry myself away…this is without a doubt the most fantastic Sonic game—a true tribute to a 20 year streak of the best, most badass, fastest, fuckin’ AWESOME icon ever! And the FEATURES!! I shit you not, Sonic Generations Collector’s Edition has more stuff in there—more tangible, real life stuff—than either Legendary Edition—3 OR Reach. If any of you remember, I scrambled a couple of posts together about the urgency of the situation and that I HAD to have something like this. Luckily, My hero Myyke saved me a hell of a lot of trouble and cut out several middle men by linking me to Amazon.de. Since I already had an account in English(I buy a shitload of stuff from Amazon), all I had to do was sign in and pay for it myself. And I thank GOD Myyke did that, especially then--I just visited that same page today—it’s still available: for a good $200 DOLLARS. From the bottom of my heart, Myyke—thank you so much. Hell, ALL of you who contributed to helping me in this endeavor. You really saved my bacon! Whoo! Now that the formality’s out of the way, I can show you all the amazing shit this came with. First off, the box itself is pretty damn amazing! Open it up, and the true greatness is unraveled. THIS copy of Generations comes with a sweet-ass limited print lenticular cover sleeve, switching between the images of Classic Sonic and Next-Gen Sonic, across the backdrop of the lush meadow that started it all—the Green Hill Zone. hinter der Abdeckung ist das Spiel an sich. Die Rücken-und Handbuch sind - natürlich – in Deutsch, Deutsch. (Interestingly enough, the German manual is full in detail, back to back, but the English manual has to be downloaded from an invalid URL address...) And behind THAT, some Add-On codes(which I’ll share later on) which SHOULD work in the US. In addition to that, I got a SWEET Art book filled with rare and unreleased drawings, pictures and renders of Sonic and other characters over the past 20 years, logos and game titles included. Plus, an awesome double disc exclusive special edition collector’s item—A CD with the greatest and most memorable Sonic music trax and theme songs of all time, spanning across both wonderful, kickass decades. Hand picked by Sonic Team themselves, these songs were digitally restored perfectly for this album. The other disc is a full blown documentary discussing the creation of the mascot that saved Sega and propelled it(literally) into multi-billion dollar fame, the incredible talent put together from each of the critical founding members there from the beginning, and The Birth Of An Icon that redefines platforming time and time again. And I’ve saved the best for last—At the very bottom of this large box, is the Sonic Collectible of dreams—A breathtaking statue of the two hedgehogs leading the ensemble, centered around a power ring, each in their classic, defiant yet confident ‘wagging finger‘ pose. Oh, wait—did I say that was the best part? Because it’s not. Not when it’s compared to THIS!!! A solid gold individually numbered power ring—the item that started it all and still propels Sonic forward even to this day. Lovingly crafted, and snug perfectly in a beautiful display case, this ring is a clear symbol of how much I love the Sonic legacy, and the measure of a true fan who sticks with the Blue Blur, through thick and thin. I’ve never been more proud to own something Sonic related in my entire life. I’m filled with a joy that only fathers should have for their newborn. And I couldn’t have done it without the help of you, the HBO community. (For something that’s not even Halo related, nonetheless.) Oh, and a HUMONGOUS thanks to Germany for having the product in the first place! lange leben Sonic! Dieses Spiel wird bei mir seit Jahren Aufenthalt! Vielen Dank an alle, die geholfen haben!
