: *Sigh* : They had to finally do it. I understand that the majority of the population
: But hey this is a classic map and something has to fill in for the god pistol
You don't need to learn how to pace the DMR anymore! THAT MEANS MORE SKILL M I RITE. Wish they would have waited for Halo 4 to make any changes. I just kinda feel that up until now, 343 has been content to trace Bungie's work, but suddenly decided they should change Bungie's design for Reach instead of waiting for their own game to change Halo into what they want. I mean hell, Halo 4 is probably only a year out at this point. If I wanted to play Halo 2, I'd load up Halo 2 Vista. And everytime you bring up a criticism of the change, it's the usual YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE REST OF THE PICTURE response that you get from 343 every. damn. time. Well, if they don't want people making judgments based off half-done builds of the game, perhaps they should stop showing off half-done builds of the game. Criticizing your fans for making assumptions based off video evidence you put right in front of them without even a note with like "DMR still fired at normal rate in this build, was clamped later" and then when people go Y DMR FIRE SO FAST WITH NO BLOMZ and they complain about that, perhaps they should wait until all the changes are done before showing off any of them. As it is, the DMR we have been shown with NO evidence to the contrary has no bloom and fires at the same rate as the old one. The pistol is now pointless. The AR still has bloom and will now be pointless to burstfire as the DMR user will be able to just spam you to death. Why even pick up a PR or Repeater? The DMR user will just cut you down across Boneyard, Spire, Hem, and well basically most maps since they won't need to pace their shots at range to hit you anymore. Add team fire into the mix and Hemorrhage games ALONE will just be people camping at the bases lest they get mauled by DMR fire upon leaving their shelter. All I see is a reduction in skill (no need to learn how to pace shots or burst fire any weapon, just spawn with a DMR and no need to pick up any other weapon besides Rockets), and a market for turbo controllers popping up overnight after this TU goes out. Bloom was there for a reason, Bungie had a purpose behind everything they did in this game. Now it just feels like they're using Reach as the Halo 4 Beta. I put up with the overpowered Halo 2 BR post-patch because we had nothing better to play. These days, there are plenty of other games to take up if a developer makes a silly decision with an update.
