I'm looking at some of the concept art used for the Flood, and the artists used a lot less colors on the inside of their creatures than you did here. Nothing wrong with what you did of course. You'll hear no complaints from me on the quality of your work. :) It's just that one of the things I particularly like about a lot of the other Halo concept art is that it simplifies a lot of the colors and textures, so that it almost ends up looking like a cross between a cartoon and a photo. But in a very serious and believable way. The textures and feel of the creature is still there, but I guess in a sense you could say that it almost makes the image easier to look at. Short version, yours looks a tad too much like the one in the game. We specifically don't want the art we use to look like it was just a shopped screenshot. Less colors. Use a much simpler pallet. Disclaimer: I could be very wrong and this could all make it look worse. This is just as much an experiment for me. Let's just see how it turns out. :)
