We don't have to have the intention to make a point to do it. Example: You look at a painting. Let's say it's an abstract piece. You see the colors and the shapes and you think, "wow, the artist must have been angry when he painted that." The piece becomes a symbol of anger to you. The artist, however, was trying to evoke the emotion of excitement - but that doesn't matter. The artist isn't at the gallery telling you what it means; you, the observer, are figuring that out for yourself. Art means different things to different people, and literature - as an art - is not excluded from this. Most videogames are not created with deep thought behind them, but that doesn't stop them from occasionally making a good point or two.
