In Response To: Re: Why i will be buying HCEA *article* (mnemesis) : You're absolutely right, he's wrong to try to simplify it. A port is simply : making a piece of software work on a system it wasn't originally designed : for, whereas this is obviously more than that. Entirely new graphics, : remastered dialogue and sounds, coop campaign over live, none of these : things have anything to do with a 'port'. I'm sure the coop code is new : and is designed to allow for proper functioning on the new system that is : the 360, but since that capability didn't exist on the original (campaign : play with two players over an external network), it's obviously not part : of a 'port'. Are you nuts? Adding stuff and enhancing graphics and remastering audio is part of a lot of ports. Sometimes ports even fix bugs! Sometimes ports add extra levels! Porting is usually more than just a straight up literal translation. Zomg, the mac port of Unreal uses RAVE instead of DirectX! It's not a port since the graphics are rendered entirely differently! Zomg, they added modes to the PS2 metal slug 3 port, it's not a port since it's got extra stuff! Do you even know what a port is vs a remake? Obviously not. Please please please do your homework here. I'm not wrong.
