In Response To: Re: Urrr, now I'm conflicted. (General Vagueness) : This ring is not a natural formation. :-) OK, it screams, the designer wanted to make sure that the skylines were covered but he can't afford to use enough trees to make it look natural and cover everything so he evenly spaces them in a line along the skyline (and.. breathe in). It screams, the game engine technology isn't up to the job yet, you are playing a game with circa 2011 technology. I used the term, artificial, as a shorthand for the above. I think that the artists would be better off laying the trees out in dense clumps. Give us patches of trees, and areas of not-trees, we are used to seeing that. Going back to Overlook - the artists should have left the exposed mountain ridges bare and concentrated the trees in the more sheltered valleys. Maybe have occasional stunted trees or bushes rooted in the cracks between boulders on exposed areas. I just think that lines of regularly spaced, single trees, along skylines is a visual crime. It will never look right. It stands out like a sore thumb and ruins the natural look.
