In Response To: Re: Why i wont be buying HCEA *article* (Cody Miller) I like how you rail against marketing and the like and then frame things in a way that's obviously in your favor-- LAN play wasn't removed, it just wasn't ported. Likewise I'm sure they didn't just ignore Halo PC's net code but rather chose not to go through the long and probably pointless task of porting, updating, fixing, testing, and refining it. In fairness maybe it was ported and then removed, and I can see how they can seem like the same thing, but you're making an assumption with no facts to back it up-- and if you say "it's not there, so that means they removed it" as a fact, I will be tempted to throttle you. I don't know if this part is willful or not, but you seem to ignore that this isn't just a straight port with minor upgrades, there are also the 7 maps for Reach-- and Reach maps were not included with the first game so this is an addition-- along with the terminals and other things for us to find, and I guarantee you there are people who would buy it just for those two reasons. I didn't even mention on-line co-op, a feature even Halo PC doesn't have, or the possibility of theater mode and statistic tracking, which are more very welcome additions. I was going to have a section here where I went into what you're thinking and what you want but it sounded pretty presumptuous and bad, so I'll say not getting the one thing you wanted out of this (or the thing you wanted most; namely original Halo multiplayer) doesn't mean there's nothing to get out of it-- again I can see how it might seem that way to you, but as I'm sure you know since so many have told you by now, not everyone agrees with your viewpoint. |
