In Response To: Re: Why i wont be buying HCEA *article* (katancik) : If they added theater mode, player investments, and rally : points then they could say "we made the original game added things : you come to expect in the modern-day and made CE feel like a new game : again." But they didn't. You have missed it. The entire reason for releasing this is nostalgia and preservation, not for a "new game". If you want to play new stuff, then by all means, keep playing Reach, and Halo 4 eventually. I don't really think there's anything about HCEA that people should be getting their panties all in a wad about. Really. They're not "f-ing up the canon", they're not f-ing up the gameplay, they're just giving you a freshened-up experience. I, for one, find the original Halo to be borderline unplayable on the 360. The emulation is just not very good. All the changes that RC talks about would have required a pretty resource-intensive effort in terms of development. I would venture to bet that many of them (AI for Mythic, "player investment system", at the very least), would require using the most current engine and a pretty massive porting effort, which would simply not feel the same. Then you would have people complaining about that. In the end, there are always some people who aren't going to be happy. I'll be buying a copy for both of my systems for the good old days of LAN partying and pwning my buddies on Prisoner. 3 shots, FTW.
