In Response To: Yeah, so Karen Traviss (Frankie) : Is making magic happen. That lady sure can type words real good. I'd love to get some real info on this, 'cause then I'd know how to shape my expectations. With Greg Bear, my expectations were high from the start. As of now, I have absolutely no idea what Traviss' writing style is like, so it's all based on what I've heard. For instance, I've been wondering, how do the "science fiction" aspects balance out between the action and military stuff? Is Traviss' style closer to Dietz's TF, which is basically all about boots on the ground action and shooting or Nylund, who incorporates more grand scale sci-fi and space opera elements while keeping the action as a major focus? Which of the existing books would you say is closest to Traviss' new one in terms of narrative perspective, scale and writing style?
