Not being a stranger, just prefer GAF nowadays. (No offence to Wu) You didn't say reach is perfect, but you did say that it "Uttery destroys, kills, and then shits on the corpse of visible Trueskill and Halo 2's ranking system.". I will tell you right now that I enjoyed my time with ranked MM/Social MM in Halo 2 and 3 more than I have with Reach. The satisfaction of getting 'one more level' was much more than the simple grind that they have implemented now. I remember perfectly the night I got my 20 in Doubles... It was an incredible feeling and an awesome achievement. I was proud of what I had earned and knew that if I didn't play well I would lose my rank. Now in Reach it is just a matter of grinding... The top ranked player in the world does nothing but play firefight day in and day out. That to me shows a broken system. Why should he have a higher rank than me? I am likely better than him at the game itself, but because he has more time to play he has the highest rank? I have a hard time conveying my thoughts on this, since it is something I haven't really thought about to much before. Hopefully though you can see where I am coming from with some of my points.
