I quite disliked The Library for a long time; I didn't want it out of the game or anything, because even then I understood the enormous importance of its style for the storytelling, but I didn't really like to play it except when going through full game runs. As the years have passed, though, I've more and more come to like it in and of itself. One thing I've noticed has always been the case is that, while going into it is very intimidating, once you're into the flow of The Library, it's actually kind of beautiful and mesmerizing in its own screwy way.
tl;dr: The Library took years to grow on me, but now I think it's pretty cool.
