In Response To: So you're on a desert island: (Jillybean) Assault on the Control Room, no question. It's a glorious marathon affair and features almost all the weapons, adding to the number of ways you can tackle things. You're going to want as much variety as you can get, stuck on that island. Especially if you're going to be living off bananas and coconuts on a daily basis. There's lots of outdoor fighting which is my favourite, but I love all the indoor stuff too. Critically, it's covie fighting all the way; the Flood aren't anything like as much fun to me and in particular there's not much humour to them. I'll definitely need lots of Grunts screaming and flying through the air to keep my spirits up! Also, for the most part it's nice and bright. But on top of all that, which is already sufficient reason for me to choose it, there's so much nonstandard play to enjoy, notably two megabattles I could play over and over (spiral path and twin bridges), though things would be a little fierce on Legendary. The only other H1 level offering combat that intense is Halo which has the rockslide megabattle, but the level itself is much shorter and there's also no rocket launcher to enjoy. You don't expect me to maintain my mental equilibrium without a rocket launcher do you? Another major nonstandard extra is the ability to nab a Banshee, so I can enjoy a lot of aerial fun too. Far more than in Two Betrayals, since you mention it. It was easy to rule out the sequels. Nothing in them ever came close to rivalling the enjoyment of H1 for me. Mind you, I haven't actually played Reach yet. I'm leaving that for a rainy day/year. Or if my luck is out, a desert island equipped with only a stinkin' 360 I guess.
