H3 is almsot more frustrating : than Reach because, acting as the final piece of a trilogy, it doesn't : exactly resolve a lot of issues from the previous games sufficiently (like : in my post where I quote Cody, with the whole "no, nothing, doesn't : matter"). And as others point out, the entire first third of the game : is essentially a waste of time journey to destroy an AA gun. : ODST is a different beast entirely, with a very delicious story but gameplay : that kind of makes me wonder sometimes. At the same time, they made that : game in a year, and considering what came out of one year's work, damn. : ODST is complex. : But I can't honestly say that H3 does anything for me when compared to Reach. : H1 and H2 had the brunt of the story, and it was all fairly well executed. To be fair, H1 doesn't have all that much story. It's very sparse, with lots of white space for the player to populate. I'm not saying it's bad or poorly executed; to the contrary I think it's incredibly well executed. But not fair to compare later entries operating under the burden of all the Haloverse. It's much easier to write on a blank canvas. : Honestly, I'd still go with the "nostalgia" argument for you, : sir. :P
