In Response To: Old halo games remake by 343 industries? (hotshot revan) As a few others have said, I'd be interested in a remake of H1 that knew exactly what to keep the same and exactly what to update. I'm not too sure I know what that would be, myself. I think there are remakes I'd like to see done, but not very many. Pretty sure the physics engine would need to not be tweaked - same with level design. Audio shouldn't be touched, either. Cutscenes should stay the same (apart from being in whatever engine they use, obviously). Multiplayer needs to play pretty much the same, imbalanced weapons and all. If you stray very much at all from the original formula, you'll probably lose that magical Bungie juice (as in fact, my whole local crowd LAN). Adding XBL support might be okay. Adding support for a wider range of gametypes would be nifty (as long as none of the originals are lost), and support for more than two teams would be nice. Having perfect replicas of the H1 maps is essential, and part of why the physics engine needs to remain unchanged - on some maps, like Chiron, a lot of the awesomesauce requires extreme subtleties of physics remaining unchanged (I still love throwing grenades at 90-degree angles in that one room). Also, I'd say I don't think this is too likely. If it was done just right, though, I could see the appeal. I'm not sure anyone on earth would be capable of revisiting it and coming away with a good result, though. I probably wouldn't trust me with that job. -Nate
