Most of my time in Halo 2 was spent : playing on Normal, so I didn't NEED to skip it, I just did. Sounds like me on Assault on the Control Room. I love that level, but even though I love it, once I figured out how to knock a parked Banshee off a ledge, I fly that through the second half (and skip many of the circular rooms). Yes, it shortens the level, but it also allows dogfights and death from above. For the longest time I couldn't understand how the gameplay reel in Halo had scenes on that level with the Banshee.
