In Response To: Whadya think about the controls? (Addy) For the first time ever, I'll be using an alternate control setup while playing Halo. The default just looks wrong. When I made the jump from Halo 2 to the Halo 3 Beta, the transition from reload/action being on X to right bumper threw me for a loop. After a day it felt completely natural and much more sensible. What's odd is that Gears has always had reload on the right bumper, and it predates Halo 3. I should've been used to it right away. ODST continued the trend. I'm so used to reloading with the bumper now in shooters, that in games that don't use it (Borderlands, Splinter Cell Conviction) I initially feel lost. Reverting all that back to X feels like a step backwards, and not a good one. I'd like to have the default control setup explained. I'd like to know why THAT one was made the default. Has that much emphasis REALLY been placed on Melee now? I'll be using Recon, where the only thing I'll have to get used to is grenade swapping on X and equipment on left bumper. That at least makes marginally more sense to me. The bumper puts your equipment close at hand and allows you to maintain control of everything else. Swapping grenades is now nestled with swapping weapons.
