For all we know, any and all Forerunner installations on : Sanghelios and the Prophets home world had been buried as well, but at : some point in their history they found the relics and thus began the road : to the Covenant. Knowing what to look for (and even discovering tools that : found it for them) led them to find installations in other systems, and : eventually Harvest. : The Forerunners didn't mean to leave their technology out of Humanities : hands, they wanted us to find it when the time was right by burying it so : that they would only find it after developing the kind of technology that : could locate and dig it up. What they didn't count on was other species : finding it first and using it for nefarious purposes. You have to keep in : mind that the Prophets and the Elites had reached modern-level technology : long before we did. They developed (and stagnated) a long time before : Humans began reaching out into the stars. The Forerunners probably thought : that Humanity would develop the quickest because it was directly related : to them. What they didn't realize was that we were (arguably) unworthy : inheritors, because we didn't develop quickly. Instead we bathed ourselves : in bloodshed for thousands of years until it was too late to keep up with : the developing Covenant. : What the Forerunners had wrong was not their view of how to hand the galaxy : to the Humans. They were wrong that we were worthy to inherit it at all. : Origins II plays up this fact. : Did that make any sense? I'm a little bit worn out and probably not making : cohesive thoughts. Makes a lot of sense. Reminds me of the Krogan from Mass Effect. Why would you allow a race access to technology that is beyond them when they are not intelligent enough to understand it? It's like giving guns to kids, they will shoot them without understanding the consequences. -Hedge.
