In Response To: Re: How does everyone feel about... (Stephen L. (SoundEffect)) : I think this is along the lines of Vincent's thoughts, but Earth was : discovered by the Forerunners late in the game. They had numerous colonies : and those are the ones that have the multitude of Forerunner relics on : them. They didn't colonize Earth, so that explains the lack of relics : lying around. They found something special about humans (speculation being : that perhaps the Forerunner race started out from early human stock) and : because of that link to humans, decided they would be their reclaimers. Along that vein of thought, they may have had every intention of handing off the keys, but they were in something of a tight spot at that time.
