Salt ready! :) The strange interconnectedness of Covenant ship design glimpsed at in the Truth and Reconciliation made sense from a strength standpoint as well as its look being undeniably alien. Instead of embracing that, we get breakaway compartments. I'm cool with that, it just seems that revisiting something established never seems as cool as inventing the new. The explanation for the compartmentalization has its roots in Guilty Spark's own memory. He remarked on that in case he was captured by the Flood. Makes sense that ship design follow that course.
