Assuming that you're only running off the bridge rather than jumping off, and also that you're making sure to rub against the cliffside for a way before the ledge to help slow you up (as emphasized in my article), then you may have an impossible problem. In the 'Futher advice' section of my article, I mentioned how someone with the Japanese version of the game was apparently having the same problem, always dying before reaching the ledge. I'm not sure what it was about that version that made it different, but perhaps it extends to your version. Or perhaps there's a difference between the NTSC and PAL versions? I'm in the UK and have the PAL version. Can anyone confirm that the trick works ok with the NTSC version? And then there's also the PC version, come to think of it; I don't know if it works there either. Sorry to hear you're having this trouble.
