OK, I see what you're saying. I have seen this on Half-Life 2. The Citadel is a miniature model loaded into another coordinate of gamespace and is somehow 'projected' in the right area of sky and looks to be the colossal building several blocks distant. I wasn't aware that had been done with Halo 2. The most perplexing map for me to try to figure out is the High Charity ones. The inner area of High Charity with the Dreadnought at the center always looks from the player's perspective to be like you're near one wall while the Dreadnought and the far wall are more distant. I haven't figured out how they've done that one yet. I have heard of the magnified corpse in the sky before, but outside of a youtube vid, haven't seen that myself.
