I guess that's a matter of opinion, because I look at both and still think the final looks better. I mean hell, the banshees were Halo 2 models, not the nice looking final H3 ones. Ark portal looks exactly the same. I also think the area Chief is in looks better in the final, but it's hard to compare since they completely changed that from the trailer version to the final. It's clear at the moment the trailer was made, it looks like he was going to reach the end of Tsavo Highway and see what happened. In the final game, they thought better to have something of a large scale battle right at the end. They did say that the Tsavo Highway level was cut short later in development in a Halo 3 post-mortem, and was originally going to continue past the downed pelican in the final game. There's still the same HDR, the textures are still the same resolution, the game is still running in 5.1 sound, the skybox is the same.. just the real time visor reflections had to go. They tweaked the parameters (you may remember how harsh the 'eye light adjustment' used to be in the multiplayer beta, which they toned down for the final), but the tech is still the same.
