In Response To: Sticking with 'spores' after all (Rockslider) : Actually, after starting to alter 'spore' to 'parasite' on my site I agree "parasite" sucks unless it's an Elite referring to all the Flood, I suggest popcorn or ranger or infector. It's just seeing them misreferenced like that always bugs me : and realizing how extensively interwoven the former term was, I've decided : to go back and stick with 'spore' after all. More googling showed me that : the term is in pretty common use for the nibbler chappies - which doesn't : make it any more correct of course, but when something has fallen into : reasonably common use there's a case for having to just give in and accept : it as an alternative. I've added a mention of the distinction in my H1 : combat tips section on the Flood, but ultimately say that "as a : trooper in the field - which is my main psychological standpoint - I'll : leave the science stuff to the boffins. Me, I just shoot stuff, and I've : always known these pests as 'spores'. Waddaya gonna do, demote me?". : But thanks anyway. but it's your site and you can do what you want with it, and I appreciate what you've done with it, so I guess complaining would be... inappropriate.
