Yeah I remember telling a non-gamer, non-sci-fi-fan friend about Halo's story and when I said something along the lines of: "...and then humanity gets attacked by these aliens, who are religious fanatics who believe that our whole race is an affront to their gods..." he cut me off and said: "oh, how very timely!".
