Of course, the idea that the elites were never encountered before Reach has been retconned multiple times already, even by the author himself. Same with Brutes; the battle on the Unyielding Hierophant was supposed to be the first time they were encountered, yet in Contact Harvest they were one of the first Covenant species humanity ever encountered. : Can't think of many childish cartoons that show spurts of vomit and blood, : including an eye being punched out. =P : Probably just what you're used to. If you're already quite accustomed to the : likes of more serious anime such as Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, : Wings of Honnêamise etc, you'll probably be able to get beyond that sort : of thing. : Generally anime has a style that has characters being very expressive and : movements can be quite exaggerated which can take some getting used to. Yes, i believe that's it. The "expressive" style. The extreme closeups of the characters' faces with them panting for example. And the huge eyes, the odd camera angles, etc.
