In Response To: Re: :-\ (Stephen L. (SoundEffect)) : I think that image has Mombasa in the wrong spot. The burning city in Halo 3 : we see in the distance should be Voi, not New Mombasa. On a real-world : map, New Mombasa is so far from Voi you wouldn't see that far. Most of Voi : is where the portal device is the ruined building in the background are : what's left standing. The Traxus Complex is on the near side of Voi on the : outskirts. I can't see how the building in the background is supposed to : be Mombasa. The idea that the buildings in the distance are the ruins of New Mombasa comes from WAY back in 2006 when the first announcement trailer was released. From Bungie's Q&A BWU of May 12, 2006: "xTr1GGeR HaPPYx asks, I'm guessing those ruins in the back are Old New Mombasa, so, whereabouts is the Chief and this Forerunner structure? That is indeed the ruins of New Mombasa. The artifact and the Chief are where they appear to be, on the desert outskirts of New Mombasa, and many miles inland. The mountain behind him is Kilimanjaro." It doesn't make a lost of sense geographically, but that's mostly because the distances and proportions are somewhat skewed; Halo 3's East Africa had all of the directions correct. Halo 3 ODST's New Mombasa on the other hand...
