In Response To: Re: Stuff I'd like to see answered: (ElusiveEagle519)

: It seems that a lot of people think the Forerunner first observed us as early
: humans (the "cavemen"). Maybe this was mentioned in the
: Terminals, I'm not sure. However, I have another idea: What if the
: Forerunner saw us when we were civilized and had become technologically
: advanced (at a time when civilization was developing and technology was
: increasing at an ever faster pace)?

: This could make sense. 100,000 years ago we know the Forerunner brought back
: species to the Ark for safe-keeping for the Conservation Measure during
: the war with the Flood. Clearly, they would have brought back some humans
: (as is mentioned in the Terminals, I believe). They then activated the
: rings, destroying all sentient life of sufficient biomass, including
: humans still on Earth and elsewhere. That means that nearly all humanity
: perished, except for the few on the Ark. It was at this time that the
: Forerunner disappeared. The Ark then re-transported (through the Portal)
: the few Humans back to Earth where they were to once again start humanity.
: Over the following 100,000 years civilization and technology once again
: grew and we arrive at the 26th century. Therefore the Forerunner saw us
: when we were thinking, curious humans with civilization, technology, and
: hope, instead of nomadic cannibals with spears.

: Does this seem feasible?

: I hope this made sense!

The problem with that is that there is no archaeological evidence for past a high tech civ on Earth 100,000 years ago.

OK, the Haloverse isn't our universe but they would still have had archaeologists and they couldn't have missed the evidence.

There is also the web comic that showed an african tribesman watching the portal being built. That suggests that we were not high tech at the time though its not conclusive proof.

And we know that there were other, higher tech, civs in the galaxy. The terminals tell us this. They had pleasure craft spaceships and transports, big cities, and nukes.

I think that we were, somehow, related to the Forerunners. This could have been a relation by blood, which ties into all that sins of the Father stuff — or it may have been some shared taint, a taint of interference by some higher beings. It would be someting that would be immediately apparent. Either because we were the same species or it would be something that a Luminary would pick up on the first scan.

I'd like to say more but I really have to finish this post now.

Catch you on the flip side...
