What is important is that 04, 05, and 00 all had Earth flora on them. That needs an explanation. It may be as simple as a lazy art department, it may be that the Forerunners redecorated to make us feel at home, or it may be that the Forerunners came from Earth, or someone else had been to Earth and the Forerunners inherited installations covered in Earth flora. If memory serves, the only, obviously, alien plants on Forerunner installations are the trees we saw in 343gs. We know that was the work of a Bungie newbie who spent way too much time designing an alien tree when he had an entire level to design. So its existence on the ring may not be a story point, may not be deliberate. All the rest of the plants are earth like. That may be significant.
