In Response To: Re: *Cough*Orsen Scott Card*Cough* (General Vagueness) : ^ 1. I agree, Les Stroud much > Bear Grylls, I'm sad he stop doing : Survivorman. : | : | 2. *coughONIFOLK'DITUPcough* : | : L_3. What does this title mean? I know he wrote the Ender books (which I've : read); why is he relevant here? Couple of points: -Ender books are awesome. -Les Stroud is way better than Bear Grylls, if only for the fact that he's more real. Les Stroud always stress how important it is, if you are truly lost and trying to survive, to slow down, use your head, conserve energy, and AVOID anything that could get you injured, because if you do, you're pretty much just done. Bear Grylls, on the other hand, just runs around, doing stupid shit that could probably get you killed if you're trying to survive. I remember seeing an episode where he was actually hopping from boulder to boulder on some hillside. I'm talking car sized boulders here; if he would have misjudged the jumped, it would have easily been a seven to eight foot drop, onto more rocks. That's just not smart if you are trying to survive. Also, I've never heard of Greg Bear, either, but I absolutely look forward to this trilogy.
