In Response To: Wait a minute... (stan) : They wrote the story. I'm guessing by the reaction we've seen to this update, : we didn't know a lot of that before (though I've got a feeling we'd : figured most of it out). If that's the case, if the fans wanted to fight : elites Bungie still could have accommodated them within the confines of : the story as we knew it. Not to do so seems kind of mean. Or maybe lazy : because Halo 3 was already set up to feature brutes as the main enemy and : not elites. : I don't know. The way I interpret it is: they planned a game in this specific time frame - now in this time frame it would have been downright stupid for the Covenant to send Elites to Earth. So instead of ret-conning or creating a group of Loyalists that somehow Truth magically knew would all stay loyal and also equally magically trusted them enough to send them to Earth - there's really no way for Elites to be the ODST's enemy. And I really appreciate the idea that hey, the Elites were an enemy but things have moved on and you're not going to get that again.
