i never really got into the whole IRC based chat thing, do you think that in the future the genre could be simplified for people like myself? perhaps with controls that are more simplified than the complicated text entry box and advanced syntax for changing your name? perhaps something more akin to, waving my arms some way to convey general sentiments regarding posted topics? perhaps some gestural based control scheme, where i can shake my head vigorously to post a frowny-face and let everybody know that i think halo wars will be a steaming pile of crap? perhaps these easier controls could attract people to a once dead attraction and revitalize the market for IRC chat applications? who knows, maybe using more easily accessible controls you could steal the chat market from the current AIM and Yahoo powerhouses, or create an entirely new market amongst the technologically inept young and elderly!
