In Response To: Halo - a look back over seven years (Louis Wu) : http://halo.bungie.org/news.html?item=24503 : Give us what you got! Well, played some Halo 1 at a friend's place back when it was first out. It was a cool game, but not having it myself, it didn't seem to mean much though I really liked it. (I was big into Half-Life at the time). Halo had the complexity and involving story like Half-Life, but was more sci-fi, or at least more space-related. When the PC version came out, I picked it up and played like someone possessed. Halo 2 came out the following year and again, without an Xbox, experienced the Halo 2 campaign watching a friend play it. By then I was already hooked and wished I'd had an Xbox of my own. It wasn't until late 2005 that I finally got an Xbox original. I played the PC version and Xbox games relentlessly, but... I wanted more. I've always beena sci-fi fan and big into Star Trek and Star Wars. Once I had read the Halo novels, I was amazed that Bungie had created a universe with the epic scope of Star Wars and Star Trek, but had populated their universe with facts in MUCH less time than Trek and Wars had. I began research to find out more information on the technology of the Halo universe. There's was scant material to be found (unless my search skills are horrible). I decided to actually research and write the types of articles I wanted to see online. I also began building a model of the Pillar of Autumn and someone who posted on HBO found my model as there was a POA discussion going on here then. He invited me to join in the discussion and shortly after writing a couple of articles, Mr. Wu started posting them up. The feedback from the articles over the years has been tremendous. I'm actually still at it, even though it doesn't seem like I have been. I still visit the forum on a daily basis, it's my second stop after checking email. So, lots of love to Bungie and Halo, and a lot to the HBO community as well! Let's do this again in another 7 years! - Stephen
