In Response To: Re: Halo - a look back over seven years (JeSteR 343) I could not have said it better. Halo has brought me hours of joy and hours of frustration. But I loved every minute of it. Jester, thanks for all the great times. I know that there will be plenty more in years to come. HBO, thanks for the memories. Lots of great times and moments on here. From the cheap, and clever puns of Stuntmutt to the well thought out articles of Narcogen and from the epicness that is the Wu to the peculiar and absolutely wonderful people that make us this forum.....Thanks. You guys really are the best. Bungie, thanks for everything. You guys made it all possible. Now, for the pure joy of reliving the moment, I present to you my most memorable Halo game moment..... It was one of those great games. 2 flag CTF on Blood Glutch. As I recall it was 6 on 6. An Epic stalemate. For 4 hours, we had played the same match, and after 4 hours the score was tied 2 flags to 2. Everyone was on edge. I was playing on a team with Jester, who by the way is a magician when it comes to stealing a flag from the enemy base. It is like they just give it to him. He goes into a base, and comes out with a flag. Like clockwork. You can count on him to retrieve a flag. Jester had gone out to get the flag and noticed that the rockets had spawned. He turned around and brought them back to our base to use in defense. Another friend of mine had crept around and into our base. He grabbed our flag and proceeded to drive away from our base with it, because Halo:CE let you drive with the flag. Jester had just arrived on top of our base with the rockets and proceeded to fire at the fleeing flag carrier. He successfully destroyed the vehicle and killed the flag guy. Effectively saving the day. Everyone in the game erupted in excitement over the near flag capture and its successful thwarting. But all was not right in the world. The explosion of the rocket and vehicle was enough to propel the flag across the map towards the other teams base. My friend, CharmingMuffin, was the one who had grabbed the flag in the first place. Respawn times were low, so he was back in the game pretty quick. He respawned just in time to see the flag land in front of him, take one bounce and then land joyously in his arms. And since touching the flag in Halo CE made you pick it up, he effectively respawned to find himself holding the flag....right beside his base....with no one there to stop him. Game over. It was epic. And as long as I play video games, I will always remember that moment and recount it to anyone who will listen. It was moments like that made Halo so great and brought friends together.
