In Response To: Halo - a look back over seven years (Louis Wu) I got hooked to Halo because it was surprisingly fun to play and had a feel to it that none of the other games I played had. And the little grunties were funny. I heard about it somewhere back in 2001 or 2002 on Gamespot, where Halo came out with an obscenely high score of 9.7. Made me wonder what it was all about. The review barely did justice to the game. And then I came upon this site and the Halo Story Page, all of which was incredibly deep. It was the story, the scope for analysis- and the excellent campaign- that had me all hooked. I got to play multiplayer a couple of years later, and the MP turned out to be pretty addictive, lag aside. So, what did Halo do for me? It served as one of the few things that kept me sane during one long, unending bitter phase for me. 2004 and most of 2005 were sickening, 2006 turned sick towards the end, and well...not much for me to do but speculate away and hope for the best. Turned out to be too much to hope for. On a side note, glory be to Rockslider for his megabattles, although the version I have prevents the scenery rearrangement in AotCR.
