In Response To: Halo - a look back over seven years (Louis Wu) : http://halo.bungie.org/news.html?item=24503 : Give us what you got! Halo: CE was the first computer game I ever owned. It came free with my christmas xbox whatever year it was released now. I had never heard of it and was a bit put out because the only games i was aware of for the xbox was picmin and splinter cell, and as far as i was aware the only selling point for splinter cell was the lock picking. Splinter Cell turned out to be not so bad actually but i was blown away by Halo. The story line was so involving i taught myself to use the internet so i could find out more about it which introduced me to the HBO and Bungie community and although im mostly a lurker i still check both websites and forums daily years and years on. When i was at university Halo turned out to be a life saver giving me and my housemates an alternative universe to play in when this one got a bit too serious or stressful and in the university town of Bangor, Wales where there often not a lot to do Halo lead to many entertaining LAN fests, the creation of the Official Beerlo Association and Clan AB. Now that university is finshed Halo over XBL is keeping me and my friends from uni in contact and im getting back in contact with people i havnt spoken to from before universty.
