In Response To: Halo - a look back over seven years (Louis Wu) : http://halo.bungie.org/news.html?item=24503 : Give us what you got! I didn't get Halo until 2003 after graduating from High School. I absolutely loved Bungie's games, and was totally interested in Halo, until Microsoft bought out Bungie. It wasn't that I cared about that ideologically (maybe a little), it's just that I didn't really plan on buying an xbox. In high school the price of an Xbox and Halo could have paid for a lot of gas and hot dates, so that's what I chose. I lived in a college town that had the University of Michigan, and in the summer of 2003 after graduation my friend came by and offered to sell me an xbox for 50 bucks. He claimed he traded his gamecube for it, but found out that it sucked. He actually stole it from a frat house after going to a party there and waiting for everybody to pass out, but I didn't know that at the time. The box was named "charleen" which I'm told was the name of the Box's owner's best one night stand. Maybe I should give it back now that the 360 has backward compatibility… So, if a Mike from Delta Epsilon, who's favorite girl's name was charleen and had his box stolen is reading this, you can have your box back at any time. I hope the knowledge that I used to to get in the guinness book of world records is at least somewhat comforting to you. So I got Halo after that.
