In Response To: Halo - a look back over seven years (Louis Wu) I started playing this game thanks to the guys at Rooster Teeth and Red vs Blue. I've always been a gamer, from the Atari onwards, but was playing PS2 and hadn't thought about buying Microsofts brick until I became hooked on Church, Caboose, and the rest of the Blood Gulch gang. That prompted me to go buy the computer version of Halo just to play the game behind the show, and I loved it. I didn't start playing multiplayer till Halo 2, when my wonderful friend Elnea actually gave me an xbox for Christmas one year and I bought Live just to give it a try. Halo turned into a nightly thing for me, as I found the interaction with friends and the game much more engaging and entertaining than any TV show. My quest to play with fun people eventually lead me to the Tied The Leader Gunslingers, and by the time Halo 3 was out I was petitioning for membership. That decision has been one of the best ones I've ever made, as the guys and gals in the Gunslingers have been an awesome group of people to get to know. So what does Halo mean to me? It's a means to an end...a forum for fun...the reason I am blessed to be with the Gunslingers. Who knew a video game about killing aliens could help me make so many friends?
