I had similar thoughts- the UNSC had the means to stop a Scarab all this time? Perhaps it's an older version of the Scarab that's not as strong as the one we first encounter in Halo 2? Strange... Also, is it just me or does anyone else think that involving the Flood in this game breaks the continuity of the Halo story line? So much for the human's first encounter with the Flood on Installation 04... or did I miss something along the way??
