In Response To: Re: An old issue regarding what's canon (Louis Wu) : I'm solidly in the camp Narc's in - and it's why (though I set up a forum for : it) I have serious doubts about the Halo Bible project. I think it can work as long as it has a method that allows people to participate at a level of their choosing, so that instead of getting bogged down on what is and is not canon, people can choose to engage in discussions about what IS considered canon at the level where they are comfortable. So, for instance, people who consider everything canon will see and comment on everything. People who only consider the games canon will only see those items, and therefore won't be tempted to get drawn into arguments with people who have more permissive definitions of "canon" about what should or should not be included; they just won't see it. Of course that still leaves problems where interpretation of 100% canon items are affected by items with less canonicity, but nothing is perfect. With a system like that in place I think the critical mass to make the site a success goes up a bit, but the experience for all concerned would be more interesting, productive and enjoyable.
