Tell me how much better Madden 2002 looks on XBox vs GameCube? GC's Resdent Evil in-game shots look better than anything I've ever seen...better than Halo, better than anything. As far as release titles go, Miyamoto has never disappointed me, Luigi's Mansion and Pikmin are going to have me addicted right out of the box. Sure, I'd like to try the XBox controller, but I'm only human. Compelling launch titles: Super Smash Brothers Melee, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, NFL QB Club, Rogue Leader, Tony Hawk, Super Monkey Ball, Wave Race, The Simpsons: Road Rage, Madden 2002, All-Star Baseball, NHL Hitz, SSX Tricky, Batman Vengeance, Crazy Taxi, Extreme G3, Tarzan Untamed, FIFA 2002...and more... ^^ All will be available before Christmas...most will be available the week of the launch. A few of those titles may have XBox counterparts...gasp. The way I see it, MS will have to end up 'buying' exclusive titles instead of providing a developer-friendly environment. Remember that time Microsoft bought this once great little game company called...ahem? PS2 has an installed base of nearly 20 million and it's hard to program for... I think that might be incentive for developers to overcome these 'hardships.' When do you think XBox will ship 20 million? This time next year? Care to make a crow bet as to which system will be #2 for systems shipped this time next year? If Nintendo wins, you have to buy a GameCube. If MS wins, I'll buy an XBox. Ths Christmas, people are going to see XBox + Halo for $350 or GameCube + Star Wars for $250...or Luigi's Mansion...or Pikmin. The GameCube attracts gamers of all ages, and the last thing I heard was that Microsoft was pushing the XBox toward the "adult gamer." I don't buy it; I won't buy it. And why do these cool launch titles matter? How many titles can I go out and pick from for PS2 if I chose to buy one tomorrow? Why do I need an XBox to play Halo? is Halo not coming to the PC or Mac? Does the PC/Mac version such that much? I thought Bungie didn't come out with titles that suck. Why should I buy an XBox when its most compelling title is going to come to a PC platform I already support? The XBox doesn't even feel like a console. I tried my hardest at EBX the other day. It feels like a PC...it is a PC...it has a Pentium III, a HDD, a PC's size, USB ports for controller ports. Why are you downplaying PCs when the XBox is really a PC at heart? it's kind of like looking in a funhouse mirror and saying "ahahaha you're so ugly!" | |
