In Response To: Re: Yes really... (Ferrex (Dead)) : MSN has explained
Last I heard, the last PC build (over a year old) didn't have a lot in common with the playable Xbox version today. I have heard that in fact, the developers had made the decision to not develop a PC version concurrently, to focus on making the Xbox version great. So there is no way MSN could have played with both controller and keyboard on the same game, and say one is better than the other. In fact, all I heard him say is, the controller isn't deficient for most people who have had a decent amount of practice with it. The controller may in fact be alright, but the keyboard, from my past experiences with games in the FPS genre(console and PC), is much more precise of a solution. Aiming with your thumb simply isn't as precise in my opinion as aiming with your whole hand. I have played Halo, and to be honest, wasn't impressed at all with the control. Keeping the crosshairs over your opponent was extremely difficult when moving. Even though I had a hard time, I was able to dominate the multiplayer games handily. I observed at least 15 people having the same difficulty with control. I realize though that I didn't have enough time to play to give Halo a chance, so I don't jump onto the forum and immediately declare Halo sucks. I'd guess it will take the average person 1-2 hours to feel confident with the control setup. Just think about this: if a controller is superior to the keyboard and mouse, why do people rarely, if ever, use them on their computers, where they are readily available? |
