But things in our galaxy would (probably) work the same way as in any other. Stars are still hot, light only goes so fast, and slipspace still works ( ;) ). What life in one place knew would be relevant elsewhere. Of course, my argument hinges on the idea of inter-galactic Flood communication, the possibility of which could go either way. : Exploding a massive superweapon under their feet is apparently their silver : bullet. Only if you want them to go hungry for a small amount of astronomical-scale time. The Flood were never defeated, by either the Forerunners or the Chief. They were only set back by a few thousand years.
