In Response To: Re: Possibly (grantix) : Evolution happens as a result of the environment. This can be either a change : of environments or a change in the current environment. I'm really not happy with that statement. Evolution is the sequence of mutations brought about through natural selection, natural selection is top up and top down forces exerted on a population by the environment, or through characteristic preference in sexual selection. The environment does not control evolution, evolution does not happen because of the enviroment, evolution happens because of the inherent instability of your genetic make-up being selected for through environmental and sexual pressures.
