Drawing inspiration from the past is great. Copy and : pasting from the past isn't. I'd rather the map designers and artists : focus on improving old maps or work on creating new maps, not copy and : pasting existing maps. Yeah, I see your point. How about old maps being made by other studios like the last two Halo 2 maps, whereas Bungie focuses on new maps? : 3. I'd worry what these copy and paste maps would do to my matchmaking : experience. Does BTB suddenly have both Valhalla and Blood Gulch meaning I : play that map theme more often because it is more or less in the playlist : twice? What happens if I just refuse to buy Blood Gulch and others? If : enough copy and paste maps come out and I don't buy them do I wait longer : for my next game? They could be released in packs, made free after x amount of months just like they are now.So Map pack 1 comes out with chill out, chiron, backwash and terminal. two months later it's free, and the next pack is released with tombstone, relic, elongation, boarding action and prisoner. Then two motnsh later it's free and... etc. Alternatively, they could just release the maps and not put them in matchmaking. But that would be absolutely pointless and a waste of time.
