This being for a speed run and all, you could shave a good few :seconds off your time by doing an early one. I did some testing where i got on the scarab before it enters the area. It is invincible for about 15 seconds after Johnson says "Scarab, find some cover, now". You might notice in the speedrun that the shield is not affected by the first three attacks...now that you can actually see what is going on.
