I blame the fanboys *sp Halo 3*

In Response To: There isn't much new info after H2.... (Fires7orm) I really do - the most interesting part of Halo 2 (from a story point of view) was the insight into the Covenant, the Arbiter character. It showed us a new conflict and a possible shift of allegiances. There was no new conflict in Halo 3 and I think that's because the friction in the civil war was reduced as we were merely spectators (and RIDICULOUS considering the Arbiter survives and the Chief is left lost in space. It bugs me, we all know this, let's move on.) And re the first few levels in Halo 3. The large vocal group of fans who wanted Earthbound scenes got it, but there's no story on Earth, and instead there was the introduction of the Flood to try and up the ante, because we already know that humans are superior on the ground and that the Covenant could not glass Earth because it had the key to the ark. There isn't enough conflict in Halo 3 to sustain the story, and like that review says, the Terminals are fascinating - but why is there nothing of the Librarian on Earth? We're in her garden for heaven's sake, the Covenant are uncovering her keyship. Did she leave nothing behind? It's a good review and for my money, I agree with that completely.
