In Response To: That's exactly what I get. (Spartan Jag) : So no, Rockslider, to answer your question, unfortunately HD doesn't remove : the fade in/out. Ok apparently it's more involved. But I see that Red_Breast has now waded in with some clarification of what he observed, so ignore my oversimplified question. I'd still like to know why the game is giving me such a structurally different image though, i.e. in using lower draw distances that potentially result in features being unseen on my display yet perfectly visible on Red_Breast's VGA display. The game is seemingly cutting corners on its processing (lower draw distances make for less processing), but why would it do that? Is it to allow for some later processing that produces the final signal to my TV? Processing that for some reason is significantly more intensive than required for a hi-def display?
