In Response To: This is my point, exactly. (yakaman) I believed that myself until I read CH. Read from page 272 to 278. It is possible to avoid the obvious interpretation of what Joe is saying. But you'd have to be willfully obtuse to do so. I don't mean to offend but its really what I think. I'll take one snippet from those pages but read them all. The glyph shrunk in size as the hologram zoomed out to show the entire alien world, covered with thousands of those newly oriented Luminations. There are three Prophets present in this 'scene'. They later become Regret, Mercy, and Truth. They are the only Covenant to know that we are Forerunner. Yes you could argue that they got it wrong and that the MB(?) or OB(?) Oracle got it wrong, and that Sparky got it wrong, and that its all a metaphor. But that argument has gotten so old and thin. How may times do you need to be told? By how many people? In how many different formats? I have a mental image of an HBO Naysayer being violently instructed by Joe Staten. Joe is shouting at the Naysayer, "The Forerunners are Human, the Humans are Forerunner!" Bits of spittle fly from Joe's lips. The Naysayer smiles gently at Joe and says, "This isn't happening in-game, therefore it isn't Cannon. The Forerunners are not Human." At this point Joe beats the Naysayer to death with a large, leather bound, copy of Contact Harvest. :-)
