It's too bad there's nothing more to our knowledge of the precursors than that one tiny reference. A whole bunch of us Halo nerds need to sit down together sometime and jsut play through all three games and read all the books and put the pieces together. Bungie had the whole plot laid out from the start, there are probably dozens of things in the first 2 games that we just ignored that would now reveal a lot.
Those Terminals certainly are a treasure trove, aren't they?
The last one's the most interesting-(presumably) Mendicant Bias's message to us, about how now he turns on a former master, presumably the Flood. Is he there in game somehow, helping us?
