In Response To: Re: Peter Jackson talks Halo Movie (nukedude) Personally, I think Peter Jackson is part of the reason the movie isn't being made. As a producer he has a penchant for making movies that are incredibly expensive. He also has a penchant for going over budget. In Kong, he went between 30 and 70 million over budget. Being his own pet project, Jackson offered to pay the extra costs himself. Yet, Halo isn't a life long obsession of Peter Jackson like King Kong was. I highly doubt he'd pay for the movie if it went over budget. I can totally understand why a studio wouldn't want Peter Jackson producing one of their films.
